Program Settings sets a series of parameters that determine the performance feature of the software application. The parameters includes monitor type, languages, chart features, indicator, label, audio, protocol play time offset and interval, screen background, etc. To set these parameters, click the Settings button on the top of the Operation Window, and then choose Settings in the popup menu. The setting window looks as follows:

Simply check or uncheck the appropriate check boxes, or enter the desired value in the text entry boxes, and click the Save button to store the parameters when ready. This action will take effect immediately and will remain the same until you change them again.
Detailed description about each section of the settings are as the following:
Monitor: IAA will automatically detect your screen type and enter the resolution for you. However, if the application windows are not correctly shown, you may manually come to this Settings Window to make a modification. Please note that IAA is only compatible with resolutions 1024 x 768, 1027 x 720 or BIGGER.
Languages: This is automatically selected based on what you specified when you made your purchase. If you purchased a multilingual version, you may come to this setting window to specify the one or more languages you need to work with.
Acu-Chart: This setting section will allow you to choose a series of parameters that determine how the interactive acupuncture chart images are displayed. These settings can also be changed with the right-click menu.
Panning Mode: When this is on, you can move your mouse while you hold the button to pan the Acu-Chart image, and look at any part of the chart in detail. This is called Panning Mode. You can turn Panning Mode off or on by checking or unchecking the Panning selection in the right-click menu. This panning function is on by default when the program is initially installed. You can also turn it on or off by choosing Settings on the top menu and set it in the Settings Window.
Active Point: When this is selected, the active point is shown with a flashing color ball. This flashing active point is convenient for either your daily practice or for demonstration purposes. This is on by default, and recommended to be on all the times. To turn it off or on again, select or unselect this option in the right-click menu.
Male/Female: You can choose to display the male chart or female chart by selecting it in this popup menu.
Label: When this is on, there will be a text box displayed at the left side of the active point. The text box shows the alpha-numeric name and pinyin.
Description: When this is on, you can see a description about the active point when hovering over the label text box with oyur mouse. The description includes the point name, pinyin, English name, location, indications, and healing effects. Vertical scroll bar may be used to view entire content.
Click Locator: When this is on, you can click on any acupoint you see on the chart (if the point is shown with a 3D color ball), and the acupoint name will appear on the label text box, and its detailed description will be displayed when you hover over the label text box (make sure Description option is selected in the popup menu). If you click on a position where there is no 3D color ball, the label text box will display "?", meaning it is not an point available in the database. Please note that if you click on a position that is a point but not 3D color ball, it will still displays "?".
Audio: When this is selected, IAA will play an audio file - the active point's meridian, or alpha-numeric label name and pinyin after you click on a 3D-color ball indicated acupoint on the chart. These options for the content of what you want the audio to play can be chosen in a popup menu
when right clicking anywhere within the audio play icon image.
Click to Add: While this option is on, whenever you click a 3D-color ball indicator, the acupoint will be added to the Selected Acupoints List. Be sure to first check whether the acupoint is already in the list of selected acupoints.
Point Sample: This option turns on or off the images of 14 3D color balls at the bottom of the chart that indicate the corresponding meridian's acupoints. When moving the mouse over any ball, the corresponding meridian name's abbreviation will be displayed for few seconds. Above the ball, if there is a red colored bar, it means that meridian is active, while if the bar is green, it indicates that meridian is on the same chart but not active, otherwise if there is no any bar above the ball, it means that meridian is not shown in the displayed chart. When clicking any ball, the corresponding meridian will be activated immediately. This is as the same as clicking on the meridian name in the meridian list.
Protocol Settings: This section is very important for the protocol performance. The three parameters determine when the treatment protocol starts, how long the time interval between two acupoints is, and how many times each point will be repeated when playing the vocal recording of acupoint names. These settings can also be changed in the menu accessed by right clicking the left part of the Audio Icon image at the Operation Window.
Time Offset is the time in seconds that IAA will wait for after you click the Play Button on the bottom area of the screen (see below). This time offset will give you some delay time until you actually start the first acupoint treatment. If this time offset is set to zero, then you will have to be ready to immediately begin after you click the start button.
Time Interval in seconds is the time period you perform the treatment for each single acupoint. You can set this time longer or shorter depending how you perform the treatment. For an acupuncture student, you may set it so there is enough time to read the description about the point and get familiar with the anatomical location by looking at the Acu-Chart image, or set enough time to remember the information about the point. This will be an enjoyable interactive studying process. If you are an acupuncture teacher, you may give your student the necessary instructions or explanations during this time period while IAA interactively shows the description, indication (healing effects) and illustrates the Acu-Chart image.
Repeat Time is the number of times IAA repeats the vocal recording of the acupoint name / label name. This reminds you to proceed from point to point without trying to remember what is next. This helps you focus on the treatment more, and perform the treatment smoothly. For acupuncture students, this will help you remember the name and learn acupuncture techniques more efficiently and enjoyably. If you are an acupuncture teacher, this will make your teaching easier, more interesting and professional.
Audio: This includes three options which determine the audio play feature. The audio option can be combination of the meridian name in English with point # or alpha-numeric name, and/or Chinese pinyin name. This setting can also be changed in the menu acccessed by right clicking anywhere around the right part of the Audio Icon image.
Appearances: IAA allows you to choose different background settings. Simply click any one of the background patterns, the screen will be automatically changed.
When you are done, click the Save button to store your changes or you can cancel any changes by pressing the Cancel button.
