Data File Backup

Database File contains all clients' profiles, diagnosis and treatment records, treatment protocols, account information and payment records. IAA highly recommends that you back up the database file to a different folder or hard disk as often as you can. When you reinstall the software, change hard disk, upgrade computer, or for any reason, the database file is lost, you can restore the backup database to IAA databases folder without losing any data records.

From the file menu, choose File Backup, you will see a pop-up window as following:

Fig. A. File Backup

Database File: IAA database file is located at the installation folder under Database sub folder like this:

..\Databases\Customer IAA Data.adb

Backup Folder and Filename: Default folder and filename for backup are set at the same hard drive but different folder as below:

..\IAA Data Backup\Customer IAA Data.adb

User can choose different folder or filename to back up. You may save the backup database file to a CD with your CD writing software. Please note that IAA saves the backup file to hard drive, but not on CD.

Backup Options: There are three ways to back up the database file.

1. Automatically back up database file every time I exit IAA Pro

2. Ask me to back up the database file every time when I exit IAA Pro

3. Never ask again, I will back up the database file myself from file menu

Choose one of the options, then IAA will remember your preference and act in the way you chosen.

Restore Backup Database File: For any reason, such as the database file missing in the installation folder, the program reinstalled, hard disk changed, PC upgraded or changed, you can copy the backup database file to the installation folder with the filename as following:

..\Databases\Customer IAA Data.adb

Then all your data will be viewable by IAA program.
