Acupoints List

The Acupoints List is located in the middle of the three Lists Panels with the label "Acupoints" on the top in the Operation Window. This List displays all of the classical Acupoints belonging to the selected Active Meridian selected in the Meridian List. When selecting any of the acupoints in this list, the selected acupoints will be automatically added to the Selected Acupoint List.

The main uses of the Acupoints List are the following:

1. Navigation of each meridian's acupoints. When any meridian in the Meridian List (e.g., the Governing Vessel meridian shown in the screenshot below) is clicked, all the acupoints belonging to this meridian will be quickly listed in the Acupoints List. Right clicking the mouse will bring up the popup menu, and choosing Select All will add all acupoints to the Selected Acupoints List. Then when the play button (located at the bottom of the window) is clicked, IAA will navigate all the acupoints from the beginning to the end through the meridian. Clicking on the title of "Acupoints" or the active meridian name above the chart will start navigating all acupoints of this active meridian. This will help you learn about the active meridian, and/or show your patient in order to explain any details related with this meridian-associated conditions.

2. Source of the Selected Acupoints. Before administrating treatment, you need to determine which points you are going to use to treat a patient. This Acupoints List provides options for you to choose acupoints. For example, as shown in the following screen shot, when you click on an acupoint in the Acupoints List, that point will then be transferred to the Selected Acupoints List. This is how you manually choose the points based on your knowledge and experience with acupuncture therapy. You may also automatically add acupoints to the Selected Acupoints List by searching the database (see details in the section Selected Acupoints).

There is another way to choose acupoints. On the chart, click on the acupoint (the color ball), and then the acupoint will be added to the Selected Acupoints List. Please make sure the "Click to Add" is checked in the right-click menu.
